Communications Training Officer
This 24-hour course is designed to prepare Law Enforcement and Fire Service dispatchers for assignment as a training officer. A heavy emphasis is placed on observation report writing and presentation of those reports to trainees. Students will walk away with the necessary skills to provide consistent, efficient, liability focused training.
Advanced Communications Training Officer
This 16 -hour course is designed to provide current Dispatch Training Officers with advanced concepts and techniques necessary to provide comprehensive, efficient, and professional training to new dispatchers.
This course will focus on types of events, event management, types of tactical incident teams, and tools and resources. Students will participate in practical exercises that provide them with the skills necessary to recognize and work within a tactical event. This course provides students with the knowledge necessary to work a tactical incident from within the communications center.
ABCs of Call Taking
This 8-hour course is designed to apply to new and veteran dispatchers. Students will draw upon their experience to develop best practices for handling all types of calls that are commonly and rarely received by dispatch centers.
